Lawn Care

Can’t do without your lawn?

If all your lawn needs is some TLC, now (and again in the early fall) is the time to fertilize it.  We recommend Dr. Earth organic fertilizer to provide the nutrients your lawn needs.  Chemical fertilizers contain very high amounts of nitrogen which can’t all be absorbed by the grass and ends up in Puget Sound.  Think of organic fertilizers as eating your vegetables and synthetic fertilizers as mega vitamins.  You know which is the right thing to do.

Looking for a lawn alternative?

Lawns can be a challenge.  They need regular water and mowing to look good and here in the Pacific Northwest, they often compete unsuccessfully with moss and dandelions.

Consider planting Stepables instead.  Stepables are a line of low growing plants that tolerate foot traffic.  Some can be walked on regularly and others fill in quickly around stepping stones and patios.  There are Stepables for sun and for shade and many with dainty but sturdy blooms.  Come and see our complete selection and let us know which ones work best in your garden.
